Changing Culture Action Research Plan

We are a little behind schedule; we are currently working on the Student Instructional Expectations Survey and hope to have the results at the end of April. In order to regain some of the lost time some activities will be combined and the logistics will be rearranged so that some activities are happening on the same day. I hope to be posting the surveys used in the action research by the end of April.
Below is a preliminary action plan outline. I hope to complete the plan within the 2012/2013 school year so that new standards and approaches are in place for the 2013/2014 school year.

    1. Your action plan seems very thorough with lots of data to support your research..something I feel like I don't have enough of. Doris, what does MYP stand for? I am not familiar with that term. I would also love to see your student instructional expectation survey as I am creating a similar one. Do you have a specific resource you are using to develop that survey? I know you are having teachers come up with questions to ask, but just curious if you might have a resource connection to share. Best of luck with your research..sounds like a great plan!

    2. MYP is the middle years program that is part of the International Baccalaurate Program. It can be compaired to AP level classess but the credits are excepted internationally. They have a primary years (k-5), middle years (6-10), and diploma program (11-12).
I have not made the survey yet but I am meeting with our district survey specialist this week. I will be happy to share when we have something developed.

  2. Stand by because this action research project is going to change. After my initial meeting with the targeted teachers and responses to my questions I have decided to reword my research questions. The new project will encompass a couple of topics. One is team planning and the other is efficiency in time. We know that time is our most valued resource and my wondering on time is as follows; if I were to bring an efficiency expert on to campus how would he evaluate the teacher’s use of time? The team planning is not necessary about content teams but grade level teams and our approach to the whole child.
